Address: 4 Quay St, Galway
Coffeewerk + Press is a unique space that beautifully blends the intricacies of both Irish and international design with the rich aroma of speciality coffee. Nestled in a historic four-century-old building on Ireland’s scenic west coast, this small business is more than just a coffee shop; it’s a conversation starter, bridging the gap between design, coffee, and the local community.
Their commitment to quality is evident in their choice of international roasters, all of whom are champions of ethical business practices. Many of these roasters engage in direct trade, a commendable approach where they generously pay above market rates to both individual and collective farmers across the globe. This not only ensures deserving compensation for these hardworking growers but also promotes environmentally-friendly and socially-responsible farming methods. With every sip of coffee from Coffeewerk + Press, one can truly taste the dedication and passion poured into the industry.

Coffeewerk + Press Reviews:
A friend recommended this coffee shop for our Galway trip. Once we got there, I could see why! The coffee itself was lovely, but what I enjoyed the most was discovering the upper floors. Simple and stylishly decorated, with homeware, art prints, books and lifestyle products for sale, and scattered seating in which you can enjoy your coffee if you’re not inclined to browse the displays.
There’s something about Coffeewerk that reminds me of Scandinavian independent coffee shop. Quiet and understated, yet full of light. A perfect place to enjoy a well-brewed cappuccino, whether in solitude or good company. – Vy
I’d do anything to bring this shop with me back to California. Amazing amazing amazing. Exceptional coffee (pour over is a must), the vibes are immaculate, the prices are reasonable & most of all the staff are incredible. I asked for coffee recs in London and they didn’t hesitate to provide me with recs. Looking forward to my next trip in Galway specifically for a cup from coffeewerk + press! – Mollie
